Apprentice Wage Scale

You are hereby notified that in accordance with the agreement entered into between PAINTERS DISTRICT COUNCIL #14, THE CHICAGO PAINTING AND DECORATING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION, and THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, BUREAU OF APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING, the following PAINTER APPRENTICE wage scale is effective as of June 1, 2008 based on journeyperson’s wage scale of $36.90 per hour.

Painter apprentices are granted increases according to school attendance and progress. Contractors will receive wage increase authorization notices when an apprentice has qualified as per the schedule below:

Fringe Benefits: All benefits that are currently paid for Journeypersons shall be paid for Apprentices beginning with the first day of employment while serving their 90 day Probationary Period of employment.

Apprentices attending school regularly will complete 120 school days in less than three years. At the completion of 120 school days the Apprentice will receive clearance from school and will work for the Employer five (5) full days a week.

Apprenticeship School is in session every week year around unless you are notified by the School. Failure to attend class regularly will result in J.A.T.C. action and possible dismissal from the Program.
