Cabinets and Countertops (Skill)

In this class you will expand your finishing knowledge into the aggressively growing custom cabinetry and countertop refinishing market. This course prepares students for projects such as custom kitchen, master bath, and office cabinetry as well as countertops. Practical comprehensive information on finish selection, surface preparation, and finish application is included. Students will work with a variety of Faux Effects® materials. Featured techniques include mixing custom Setcoats and Stains, adapting textures to wood surfaces, and using a HVLP Sprayer to complete cabinet samples.

This class also focuses on the many uses of RockKote 2 part epoxy systems. In addition to its great chemical resistance and water proofing capabilities when used as a clear top coat, RockKote™ can also be used as an artistic clear medium creating a wide variety of extremely unique countertop effects. Students will complete four cabinet, and four countertop finishes. Included are detailed instruction sheets on each finish.
